Gov. Bindow of Adamawa state
Governor of Adamawa state Jibrilla Bindow has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari deserved commendation for his directives that helped to achieve great success against the deadly Boko Haram sect, NAN reports. According to the governor, Nigerians indebted to President Muhammadu Buhari for his fast action in addressing the security challenges posed by terrorists. Bindow was speaking during his visit to Gombe state on the 20th anniversary of the creation of the state.

He stated that the threat to lives and property had been considerably reduced. “Our President deserves commendation for his military exploits in fighting the insurgents. “Now, we can sleep both eyes closed and move around freely,” Governor Bindow told reporters. Mr. Bindow also praised Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe for taking the state to greater height within a brief period of time of his tenure. He added: “No doubt Dankwambo has achieved a lot; Gombe state has been transformed to a modern city within 20 years of its creation.” “Although we now differ in our political persuasion, Gombe state being PDP and Adamawa APC, I can confidently say we are dialectically, economically and socially related.”

Muhammadu Buhari was elected on the pledges to eradicate corruption, to defeat the insurgency in Nigeria and to revive the country’s economy. In his inaugural speech Buhari directed to relocate army command centre to Maiduguri, the epicentre of the Boko Haram activities. Later, the Nigerian president gave his newly-appointed army officers three months to end the insurgency. However, while Buhari and Nigerian army claimed that the Boko Haram almost defeated, the terrorists continue the attacks on the military bases and innocent Nigerians. Just recently, one of the locals from Borno said that the militant group still controls at least five communities in the state
