Apostle Kenneth Kiarie of God’s Covenant Holiness Church in Mihang’o, Kayole in Nairobi ended his marriage of 87 days and sent his 23-year-old pregnant wife packing. They wedded in April this year. The 30-year-old pastor told The Nairobian that he hurriedly married Marion Wagitu “because being a pastor, I needed a wife officially married in church." adding that he borrowed money to finance their wedding which has now left him in debt. The two fell in love when Marion, whom he saw as a 'humble rural girl' attended his church. The pastor is being accused of throwing out his newly wedded wife to marry another woman. Even before the honeymoon was over, their marriage hit the rocks sometime in July, with both parties pointing accusing fingers at each other. A major tragedy was averted yesterday, September 22, after a  tipper truck loaded with sand rammed into a bus and a building in Awka, Anambra State. According to eyewitness who spoke to ABS, the driver of the truck had problem with the steering wheel, swerved and slammed into a bus packed outside a compound before crashing into the wall of the building. Thanking God for his life, the landlord of the compound who happens to be the owner of the bus said that the accident happened few minutes after he alighted from the vehicle. Senator Shehu Sani has described those calling for the sale of some of Nigeria's national assets such as NLNG as economic parasites and predators who want to profit from the current economic recession. On his social media handle, Sani wrote "The call for the sale of our National assets and investment is condemnable. The proponents are economic predators and parasites who wants to profit from the recession. Nigerians must resist and rise up against this heists and roguery. They don't want to buy Ajaokuta steel company because it's not profitable;they don't want to invest in solid minerals,Agriculture or science and technology,they don't want to invest in the exploration of oil in Chad basin or Benue trough ;They want to buy NLNG and NNPC".

APC has described as silly the calls by PDP for President Buhari to return the economic to the way it was before he assumed office in 2015 and then resign. Lauritta Onye secured Nigeria's seventh gold medal at the ongoing Rio games after winning Gold in the shot put F-40. Onye's first throw of 7.83m saw her break her world record of 7.72m. Her second and third throw landed at 7.54m and 7.64m respectively. However, her fourth throw of 8.40m secured the Gold Medal. Congrats to her.  

Two USA Olympic medalists have alleged in court they were sexually abused by a longtime team physician for USA Gymnastics, Dr. Larry Nassar . According to one of the athletes identified as Jane J.D. Doe in court papers Dr Larry sexually abused her from 1994 to 2000 while the other gymnast, Rachael Denhollander, filed a report against Nassar last month at Michigan State University.    The law suit also alleges that USA Gymnastics association knew about the sexual abuse but refused to do anything about it because it feared a sex abuse scandal would damage its fund-raising efforts. A supposedly popular mentally challenged man in Ebonyi state was allegedly delivered from insanity after a Pastor prayed for him on the streets in the presence of bystanders. According to an eyewitness, Famakinwa Tunde Braith, this happened last week. From the photos shared, the pastor is also seen helping the man cut off his hair after the deliverance.
